Comet Neowise (C/2020 F3)

It took a few nights but I finally got a decent image of Comet Neowise (C/2020 F3) with in the wee hours of the morning (3:30-4:20 am). Had to travel quite a ways to dodge some clouds and get to a position (hill top) which gave me low enough horizons so I only had a tripod with me.

Locating the Comet wasn’t too difficult as it was directly below the Constellation Cassiopeia and just above the horizon about the same height as Venus which was further south. Compass wise it was directly NE give or take a few degrees. However it is constantly moving so best to check online trackers to determine the position over the next few weeks along with the expected brightness magnitude https://theskylive.com/c2020f3-info

My Best Image came from using my Nikon Z6 with 300mm f4 + 1.7x Adapter (510mm f6.7 equivalent)8 subs of 1.3sec iso8000Stacked in pixinsight with Comet Align and some slight tweaking of the curves for best image.

Now to get some sleep, the sun is coming up 😛
